Bikes vs. Audi R8 .....

Another cage driver who thinks he "beat" the bikes, lol. Looks like fun, although a bit too much traffic for my liking.

:duck:

Pff, most likely bikers let him go cuz R8 is relatively slow. The R8 is kinda stupid to tail bikers, bikers may fall anytime and R8 will kill them right away. Whenever we race bikes always think about them too.

These bikers are not nuts otherwise they will got the R8 like a camry .

Sport bikes will always give you a good run and most cars haven't a chance. I don't like to play with them. I've been down and know the consequences. Like drivers in cars, many make bad decisions. Love the sound of the R8.

Guy in the R8 is a douchebag....street racing on a busy highway at 280km/hr....ya your the man....

Those bikes were just toying with the R8. In the words of Ice-T "You Played Yourself" and he didn't even know it.

IMH), they are ALL idiots, with the R8 being slightly more of a d-bag, because his penis was small and he had to impress his girl.

Lucky this episode didn't have a bad outcome.

Normally this kind of people justify theirselves saying they have it all under control, they know the car, they know how to drive it etc. and that could be true but you never know what the rest of the drivers are going to do (remember the guy with the G). Rest of the people driving doesn't have the same level of attention you have when you are driviing at those speeds. We are all car guys, we like powerful cars, driving fast and having fun behind the wheel but this is too dangerous.

Full on retards, all three of them. And thats coming from probably the youngest guy on this board.

My dad used to have a sign in the garage that said:

Asshole: Anyone who drives faster than you.
Idiot: Anyone who drives slower than you.

I definitely like my speed but that weaving in and out traffic business is for the birds. Putting my own life in jeopardy is my prerogative, but those of strangers aren't mine to gamble with.

Fun to watch but still nuts. Lucky no one got hurt. Take it to a racetrack if you want but don't endanger everyone else. What's the top speed for those bikes by the way?

+100.

Most of the literbikes are factory limited to 186mph / 300kph. When the limiter is defeated, most of the current ones will do somewhere in the neighborhood of 190-195mph. They usually have difficulty getting past that point due to aerodynamic issues. With taller gearing and some added power some can get past 200. Those speeds aren't fun on a bike unless it's a closed course with nothing around to hit (trees, curbs, other cars, etc).

The idea that they are factory limited to almost 3 times the usual speed limit seems a little comical to me. It's obviously not a safe speed except maybe on a closed track, so what's the point I wonder.

When the Hayabusa came out, the ZX-14 tried to one-up it for top speed (both in the 190's, btw) and European governments were threatening to come down hard on the bike mfr's. So the mfr's decided to shake hands and limit their bikes to 300kph. It's easily to defeat the governor (for, um, racing use only of course) but it still pacified Beeg Brudder at the time. Remember these are sold worldwide, not just in USA where the highest legal limit is a still-pokey 85mph.

:seesaw:

Highest legal limit on a public highway = 80 MPH
Highest legal limit on a private/toll highway = 85 MPH
