Hi all.
Had the opportunity to visit the Classic division to do some work for a few days.
Great people, they were kind enough to print off one of the original Brabus 124 brochures with pictures and part numbers.
If anyone is interested i'll take pictures and post later.
They also let me Know they have 1 6.5 crankshaft left, and the parts to build one more engine.
Something i did not know, there were no 6.5's built for the German market as the could not get then TUV approved.
Will be going back in the near future, if you have any questions Brabus 036 related i can try and get some answers for you.

Regards.

Everyone on this site is interested in anything BRABUS. Personally, I know nothing about BRABUS tech but many others on this site do.

Anything you can share I’m sure would be welcome.

Maybe somebody would even go for the last 6.5 motor. Although didn’t it have some problems? Maybe that’s why no TUV approval on it. Just guessing.

Hi Terry.
I've never heard of any issues with them, ill ask next time round.
He said the crank alone will cost 10/15k Euro's alone, so i doubt building one would be cost effective.
Much cheaper ways to get that kind of power.
Will get some pics up later

We had a large group that spent more than a half day at Brabus HQ back in 2015 for the European 500E GTG. We got a personal tour of the facilities and our run of the workshops. I think the photos are posted on the site if you search for European GTG. It is impressive, for sure.

Here are the files from the Brabus brochure.

Yes very impressive Gerry.
I've not seen a cleaner workshop, attention to detail when restoring these cars is amazing.

The purple G wagon has a AMG 6.0 M117 engine, there can't be many of those around.
There were 500 M117-based 500GEs produced in 1993 and 1994 by the G-wagen factory in Graz, Austria. Anything above and beyond a 5-liter M117 in a G-wagen, would have been a Brabus or other tuner conversion. I've seen a couple of them -- there are a few in the US (imported/gray market) and I've seen a "real" one owned by an acquaintance in Germany who is about the equivalent of GSXR, but exclusively for G-wagens. Indeed, the color of all of these 500GEs was a purple-blue.

Also, AMG made around a dozen M119-based G-wagens for I believe Middle-East customer(s) during the late 1990s, but these took a significant amount of work to shoehorn the much larger M119 heads/top end into the G-wagen confines.
