Can anyone suggest a company for 036 braided lines besides Deerfield. I've gotten no response from phone calls and cannot get their website to allow me to purchase products despite logging in and shopping accordingly.

Thanks in advance.

I had a similar issue with them a few years back, but ultimately I got thru and ordered them. I am not aware of an alternative.

It seems most members here are using them. I'll try again later. Thanks for the response.

+2

My last order with them was incomplete. Tried to contact a live person, but always went to voicemail and emails went unanswered. The product is nice, but I will not support bad behavior, so from that point forward I just purchase my SS brake lines from StopTech.

HTH,

Jeff

Hello Drew, I bought a set of Goodridge stainless steel brake lines. They are o.k., but nothing to write home about. Good luck with your decision.

Do any of the other other hoses (Goodridge, StopTech) have the proper 17mm hex on the front hoses? That was the one hassle years ago, they all used 14mm which didn't fit properly in the 124 chassis bracket.

I reached out to JB (owner of Deerfield) to see what's up - haven't heard back yet.

:detective:

I knew there was a small issue with the hex size from your past postings and did check to verify my 92 has the 17mm. I purchased a rear set a few years back and was pleased. Thanks for the follow up and all the recommendations.

I purchased two sets (4 and 4) from Deerfield a few years ago and had no problem at all, very smooth.

I need to get another set or two of Deerfield lines for my cars and parts stash. Hopefully they will be open for business in the near future.

I've got 500e sets on the shelf... 👍

Quick update, another forum member placed an order recently and the website is working again. Note that the owner of Deerfield fabricates these hoses as a side business, it isn't his primary day job... so there may be some delay in response if you call or email.

Out of curiousity, I would like to know if there are any other brands of s/s hoses available for the 124 with the proper 17mm hex fitting. Anyone have data on this? Years ago, Deerfield (formerly WRXtra) was the only place to get them, but I don't know if this is still the case.

:detective:

@gsxr, could you please, at your convenience, contact JB again? I'm unable to check out because it wont let me log in, and resetting the password or creating new account does not work. Thanks

I noticed no change. Frankly just changing out your 25yr old originals for OEM should be fine as well. I enjoyed putting on the Deerfield brake lines and admiring the build qualify. So I feel better in my heart but didn't feel anything in the seat!

If your E500E's brake lines have never been changed, you are living on borrowed time, and you have a significant/serious safety risk factor. It's IMPORTANT to change the brake lines at least every 10 years --15 years at the most.

I too had no change on the C126, I expect non on the E500. The brake line rubber gets a lot of abuse, and as Gerry says, 10 years tops. I could crack MY e500 almost in half they were so brittle. Funny, the trans cooler hose I just installed from MB was comprised of similar rubber as the brake lines, another item consider changing out if they are original.

I don't have records, but it's a relatively safe bet that mine are 27 years old, 25 of which car spent in Los Angeles area. It's definitely time to replace them.

@alabbasi, it's my DD (according to you I'm a masochist, and it's hard to argue with 😁). I'd rather have the hoses delivered to my door and replace them in one sit down

Yes, still an issue. I use Opera on my desktop and Chrome on my smartphone. Neither works. I've tried Edge and still nothing

The website is up and running, and it looks like you can order through that web site. Didn't someone here on the forum just recently successfully complete an order for new brake lines? I just logged in and added the relevant brake lines to my shopping cart, and got up to the payment screen and everything was working correctly. I am using Firefox on a Mac.

Dave, sorry, last time I'm bothering you with this topic, before I move on. Deerfield guy has gone under?
Kiev, I heard back from Deerfield... they'd like to get in touch with you to figure out the problem (and get your order placed). I'll send you a PM conversation.

:watermelon:

I've tried again after Gerry wrote that he's able to get to the payment page and it worked. Order placed. Must have been fixed only today. Yesterday it still wasn't working - wouldn't log me in, no matter what. Dave, thanks for contacting him

I believe this business is a side line thing for the owner. The website works about half the time. Good products though.

Web site is working fine for me. I just added a pair of brake line orders to a shopping cart, and went through the entire checkout procedure until point of payment. All good.

Tried again just now, no luck! Maybe my using Safari on iPads, Macs and iPhones is the issue . . . will try using the wife's PC next.

Please try a different browser on a different platform. I've been using Firefox on a Mac and it is 100% fine.

Lets me load cart but when I click on checkout it brings me back to the login page with an empty cart. Tried a dozen or more times.

Again I just loaded up my shopping cart with the brake lines and got to the exact same point of purchase as yesterday. To prove that the site is working, I went ahead and spent $90.00 to prove to you that the site is working.

You can see from the attached screen shots (which cost me $90 for brake lines that I don't need at the moment), that the site is working just fine.

**SIGH**

Who else other than me would frivolously spend nearly $100 just to prove that a web site is working. :doof:
