brake fluid selection... improvements at Autozone

Well suprise suprise.

I went in today to pickup some CRC brake cleaner @ 2 for $6 and right below is Pensotin Brake fluid. Finally an option that I don't have to order. I even inquired if they would carry the 229.51 motor oil! well... not you and those bmw guys are sooo picky.
But Wurlypac does carry the motor oil- so I can pick it up at local shops... just have to ask them to place the order.

Just make sure it is DOT 4+ per MB spec! The MB brake fluid isn't terribly expensive, btw. $20/liter list, ~$16 discount, p/n 000-989-08-07-01. Not bad for an every-3-years job.

Yes I agree- MB is not that expensive. Just not as easy to get. Are Pentosin oil's group IV or group III? I see that 229.51 spec 5w40 runs ~ 40-45 per 5 liters.

ATE Blue (NLA, but I've got a good stash!) and Type 200 (gold) is quite good and readily available via mail order, Amazon, and such.

I'm sure as with all oils, it depends on the specific item in Pentosin's product line. Most of Mobil-1 oil is Group III but certain products (for example, their EP line sold in USA) is Group IV.

No clue about Pentosin engine oil, sorry!
