Carlisle Collector Car Event season opens April 21

Carlisle Events 2010 season opens April 21 - 25.

Carlisle Events was one of the first companies in the United States organized specifically to conduct and promote events for the collector car, truck and motorcycle hobby. Located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania (just west of the state capitol, Harrisburg, in central PA) is the Carlisle Fairgrounds, the home of Carlisle Events, site of the largest car, truck and motorcycle collector events in the USA.

There is at least one event each month including auctions from April thru October (often marque or genre specific). The specialty shows include Carlisle Performance & Style, Carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar, Carlisle All-Ford Nationals, Carlisle All-GM Nationals, Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals, Carlisle Summer Bike Fest, Carlisle All-Truck Nationals, and Corvettes at Carlisle. The spring show is the organization’s biggest draw of the year. Best chances for anything Mercedes would be Spring Carlisle (auction), Performance & Style, Import & Kit Nationals, or Fall Carlisle (auction).

Some interesting news that I just discovered regarding the Carlisle Import event:

"In 2010, we’re going to highlight German cars and within that we are going to focus on performance. That means in addition to all of the great Porsches, Audis and BMWs you can also expect to see the factory high performance versions of those vehicles in the form of the Audi S models, BMW M series and Mercedes AMGs. Be sure to return on May 21-23, 2010."

Looks like this would be the show to go to if you have the opportunity.

For the 2011 year we 'could' have a MB or E500E-only GTG at the Import Nationals at Carlisle/Hershey....

I plan on going this year for the Audi GTG they have been having....my wife could drive the RS6 and I can take the 500E.
