No need for the literature, one swipe of the palm under the fenders will tell one that's not kit or rolled fenders. Then just put the car in neutral, step on the gas and let engine speak for its self.

True. But I had 2 guffy guys asking if the fenders were rolled and the other one said what is the difference between E36 AMG he also added he is looking for one what kinda MB fan he is if he is not able to recognize a masterpiece ?
Lool, my all the way straight pipes sound probably were competitive to the real muscle cars

That just goes to show how rare the 036 really is. You will surprised how many Benz owners do not know what an 036 really is or its history. So my friend, enjoy the attention.

Well yeah, but most of the time attention looks like that "Hey, my brother had exactly the same car in Africa but now it worth $3000" or "Oh, this car looks weird, though nice rolled fenders, is 2.6 or 3.0? "
I got reaaaaally pissed because of that kinda questions.
There are bunch of fake MB owners those who bought an 2003-06 E55 at the price cheaper than a nice 1992 500E and thinking they are damn hot and wealth guys but in fact will not be able to tell the year of W124 chassis guessing it is 2005, lol .
heh, I got one nice comment from a guy he was like "this thing sounds like a 65 Mustang". I am glad he did not say like 98 Mustang. 65 Mustang is pure muscle car.
Well, I will pretend a got a muscle car too.

No need to get pissed, they are just learning about the 036 and you'll get a lot of "wtf is this about?" looks and comments...until you start telling the 036 story and then watch their jaws drop. Just about all have seen or know out the cars at the show you are currently at, but aside from you, nobody has ever seen an 036. So take it all in stride and teach the masses just how cool the 036 is.
"Those who know" what they are looking at, generally come running up and then a very appropriate conversation happens for a few minutes.
Until I open the trunk and my little blue secret is (nonchalantly) revealed. That's when the jaws REALLY drop.
My friends in Germany REALLY love the NOS photos because nitrous is essentially illegal there. Nitrous photos, and also the photos of my MP40 machine pistol in the door pocket of my 560SEC.
True story: At the dragstrip, after my wife made a pass in her 500E, a guy comes up to her in the pits and says: "Wow! That's the fastest 300E that I've ever seen!" We all had a good laugh and then she schooled him on the 036 pedigree...
