Center Console Wood Re-finishing: Who's good these days?

There's a noticeable crack in the wood finish or my center console. All the other wood is perfect.

I've used Igor Smirnov in San Diego with good success for my 300 TE, and my wife's 300 GE, but that was awhile ago. Pics of each attached, along with before and after shots of the GE console.

Is there a consensus on who's currently the best at doing this work?

Thanks
Will

I don't really know of anyone with a reputation for good work other than Igor. I miss Drew...

Edit: I forgot about Madera.

Following. I'm needing to refresh my SEC wood before too long but want to find someone Bay Area local; I have to believe they're out here. That way I can inspect their work and provide input and modificiations vs just 'this is what you get'. What happened to Madera?

@Type5314 please let me know if you sell the G Wagen!

I used IGOR a few years back for all wood on my SEC and was very impressed. He was not as pricey as Madera, but I liked the quality as much as what I have personally seen from them. YMMV

Just sent my trim to Madera, there was a bit of sticker shock to refinish all my pieces. We'll see how they turn out in a few weeks.

Howdy,

I used Madera Concepts Inc. this time. I commissioned 3 pieces: the console, the ashtray door, and its surround.

In addition to the utterly impeccable results, the customer service and communication were both exceptional. So refreshing!

Here's the results:

Can you gents advise where I can source the plastic switch mount that attaches to the back of the console?

Alternatively, is there a trick fix to repair/replace a broken clip?

My half-assed attempt (shown) using Bondic doesn’t last.

As always, thanks in advance.

Thanks for this. I hadn't thought of doing less than everything. But I probably only need 2 pieces reaslistically, and that makes the job quicker and more manageable.

Cheers,

Ditto what Gerry said. You may be able to source a junk wood piece with a good plastic portion. It may not be easy to swap out though. Ideally you'd replace the entire wood piece, if you aren't concerned about the grain matching the rest of the wood interior.

I’m sending my center console tomorrow morning to Igor Smirnov. What are your guys experiences with turnaround times and quality? I read the above comments, assuming all is good but any recent updates would be great.

I'm a little late, the center console (where the shifter is) came in a couple weeks ago and I had it put in. I'm super happy with it, I highly recommend the guy, all I can say is just be ready to be patient.

Thanks! I'm really happy with it.

For a full set including 12 trims (console, dash, doors), was quoted at $725. A bulk discount of $75 was applied.

For the lower console plate where my shifter and buttons sit, I paid $140 plus shipping.
