Hi Everyone,

i got 1992 500e and my engine light just came on, i got the code from the blinking light 6 and 17.. can anyone tell me what does this error means and what i need to look for.

This document will help you decipher the codes... the built-in blinker is the same as pin #19 for the DM (Diagnostic Module).

Has your car had either the ETA (throttle actuator) or the upper wiring harness replaced yet? If not... you might need to do that soon.

is my the ETA (throttle actuator) or the upper wiring harness bad so i got this code 6 and 17? but i dont feel any lost in my performance when i accelerate

You have to check codes on all the other modules too. A failing ETA or harness can cause intermittent random codes, the car will drive normal sometimes, but could enter limp mode, or trigger codes, etc. Use the instructions in the forum Wiki to check the date code on your harness. It's harder to see the date code on the ETA but you might get lucky and still have it visible from up top without removing the ETA.
