I'm surprised that the W208 series CLK does not get a lot of love. I still think that it's a stunning design and with the 5.5 AMG motor, must be a blast to drive. I've driving the W209 CLK with the 4 cam V6 and that's also a great little car, although not as good looking IMO.
I've always liked W208 in a coupe with 430/55 trims, but rag top on that car - design wise, somehow, that ragtop on W208 does nothing for me. Still, in todays market, quite a bargain of a car for what you get for little money

I need BaT to start tracking title transfers of cars “sold” there. The shit reeks of fraudulent bubble to me. There can’t be that many idiots out there.
My 98 SL500 was bought from a salvage auction in Los Angeles about 10 years ago. It had 56000 miles and now has about 80,000. The damage was very light. I replaced the core support, hood and grill. Condenser and radiator was both fine. I don't think it takes a lot to total these cars out. Especially back then,
Hi folks, the day has finally come that I must think about selling my Obsidian black AMG na 55 converted R129. The car was a SL280 my2000, originally purchased by me in November 2013 with 141k mikes so it's been in my ownership for the past 10 years. I am the 6th owner. The car has now covered...

Bogey, That’s a real beauty. The engine swap puts it closer to the last of that model the 1972-280SE 3.5 V8. I would expect someone with deep pockets to pay big bucks for her.
If it's a turbo, it's good. I had a 900S non turbo cabrio back in the early 2000's and it was bloody slow. I think it was because someone put the engine in backwards so it had 5 reverse gears and 1 forward gear that went backwards
