Early 124 sunroof disassembly

G'day from sunny down under. I am dismantling my sunroof on the 86 124 and have trouble removing the lift assembly. All the information out there shows this point clips into place but mine has screws. The screw turns the barrel, probably tight after 40 years. I have it sprayed with CRC to see if it loosens. Can anyone offer any explanation of how to disassemble this so I can tilt the side rails out? After 40 years there is nothing broken or appearing to be damaged. I want to clean, lubricate and fit new felts where necessary, only 1 appears missing so far. Your help is appreciated!

Is there any info at the link below that is helpful?

I'm guessing there was a change in the design from very early 124 (1985-1986 vintage) since the lift arms changed part numbers around 1987. I vaguely recall the water drip tray normally connects to a keyed hole in the location you circled above.

No information out there on the early sunroof so rather than possibly cause damage I will clean, lube and replace felts where needed in situ. Thank you for your contribution.
