engine leak

Hi, I have a 1993 500E (Maui's previous car) and I went to my shop today to get it out for Spring. When I got there, there was a long trail of fluid that ran down the right side of the car, just inside the right front tire. There was enough fluid to run past the right rear tire. The belly pan is on so not sure exactly where it is coming from and there are cars all around the 500E so I can't get a jack under the car to elevate it. But, the question I had is...I never had any leaks before and curious what might have failed while it was sitting in heated storage? I thought about power steering hose but isn't that on the left side of the car?

Thanks in advance,
Eric

A passenger side front leak would initially make me suspect windshield washer fluid reservoir, probably either the pump grommet, or the pump itself. But, it could also be antifreeze from that area.

What color is the fluid, and does it feel oily or watery? Is there any odor? Any fluid levels low (PS, SLS, coolant, etc)?

:detective:

Agreed -- fluid in that kind of volume on that side of the car is generally the windshield washer reservoir, likely one of the pumps leaking and/or a worn grommet. Check the level of the washer fluid in the reservoir.

Also check coolant level at the expansion tank, and check underneath the expansion tank for any leaks.

Have you contacted Maui yet, for selling you a defective car? :gsxrock:

Sls feed hose is on the right hand side ,and it can very much be the cause of the leak on your car .but no suggestion here will bring you closer to a solution ,so you will have to get someone to look at it and trace the leak
