Engine performace

I picked me car up for a drive one afternoon, the throttle response and drive was muted and the way the rpm’s climbed almost seemed like it squirted fuel in - in stages?

I drove later that night and it was like a 180* about face in drivability….

I definitely need to do the distributor cap slot mod.. lol

I made my slots deeper the other day and after compressed air to rid them of detritus, I soaked a blue shop towel in WD40 and wiped the cap insides. With the residual, I wiped the bits I could get to (I didn't want to remove anything else). So far, after some goofy stuff at the beginning, the burn off was faster to get to normal. Mind you it is 96 with almost complete saturated air humid here and yet I am getting almost perfect on my third time at startup. Some delay in the early kickdown from about 80C to 82C engine temp but much improved. So I believe in making sure the slots are deeper into the plastic cover on the bottom.

Cool air is denser (at sea level). More air in, more power out. A nice little benefit of the M119 in the 036 is the routing of fuel thru the AC system which when engaged helps cool the combustible air a smidge.

routing of fuel thru the ac is impossible......r u sure about that?🤣

Yep, my 560SEC has the same thing. There's even a HOW-TO related to it, over on the 126board:

Routing fuel line through the ac is an interesting feature ...does running ac on increase performance above 70° ?

Obviously we are talking about the fuel line and not raw fuel....lol...👍

I believe the ac on may use a degree of hp
