Hello everyone, I had a donor motor put into my car from a 1994 S500. Do I need to get a different EZL. The car seems to be running rich.

O2 sensor is located at the top/front of the catalysts.

EZL only needs to match displacement, since you replaced one 5.0 motor with another, the EZL is the same for both. This assumes your car had the correct EZL in the first place.

A digital scanner will show live data that will prove if the car is running abnormally rich, or if the O2 sensor readings are wonky, or if the LH adaptation values are off, or... etc... etc...

Can I do the LH adaption?

You can reset adaptation with either a blink code reader, or a digital scanner. The module adapts automatically when you drive the car.

However, you cannot see the adaptation values without a digital scanner, to know if they are way off (i.e., at either max lean or max rich) which indicates something else is wrong. The CEL should come on if the adaptation is maxed out in either direction.
