Found a factory tool kit for a W124. Thought I'd share with the community. Are these rare? I haven't seen one before..I don't really have any use for it since I don't own a Mercedes right now ;-)
It's not in best condition, tools could use some cleaning up, but the fabric is good, it even has the stud to help when one is changing the wheels.

Extremely common -- EVERY W124 has such a kit. You can buy them new from MB very inexpensively, as well as individual components. You can get these out of just about any wrecked car.

The one you show is in pretty poor condition.....and it also looks incomplete (should have a couple of more tools included.

Quite often you can even find them with the original plastic wrapping intact (i.e. never opened).

Cheers,
Gerry

The complete tool kit is part number 124 580 10 03 and costs $98 (with all tools) from parts.com.

The cloth tool bag is available separately, part number 314 585 00 01 and costs $33.00 from parts.com.

The screwdriver and two-sided blade is available separately, part number 000 581 03 17 and costs $13.80 from parts.com.

The spark plug wrench is available separately, part number
123 581 00 67 and costs $27.60 from parts.com.

The socket wrench is available separately, part number
123 581 00 01 and costs $39.60 from parts.com.

The lug bolt removal wrench is available separately, part number has been superseded to 221 581 00 01 and costs $13.20 from parts.com.

I don't see that any of the wrenches or the aluminum tool to hang the spare wheel on the hub are available separately, but they should be included in the complete kit.
