We upgraded our Autologic scanner on the Benz side, so I was able to scan my car for the first time. I found a couple faults in the ASR Traction control system.

0015 (P0015) current and stored 021 Pressure switch (A7/3s1): longtime monitoring.

0016 (P0016) current and stored 022 Memory Leakage.

001E (P001E) current and stored 030 CAM Comminication fault" Accelerator Pedal Controller-EFP (N4/1)

DM: Diagnostic Module Error

Every other system was fine, I never has a ASR issue and the system works. Does anyone know other areas I should be looking in or function tests, now that I have a diagnostic tool that is decent on W124s.

Jeff,

It looks like your scan tool is providing the correct code number, but somewhat inaccurate descriptions. You can use that scan tool to get code numbers, but PLEASE use the factory document to translate the codes (click here, see PDF pages 11 and 12). Factory translation below:

021 = ABS/ASR hydraulic unit, pressure switch (A7/3s1), charge
022 = ABS/ASR hydraulic unit, pressure switch (A7/3s1), leakage
030 = CAN data bus to EA/CC/ISC control module (N4/1), interrupted

That said, don't freak out about the codes. Clear them, confirm they are cleared, and drive the car a while. See what codes return. If these come back repeatedly, then you can worry. Very likely a fluke. Also, code 30 is a common/generic code that tends to show up often and is generally meaningless.

About the DM error, most likely your scanner software is not communicating with the DM. You can get blink codes from the DM using the built-in blink code reader in front of the CAN box, although you won't be able to access the live data / data stream / whatever your scanner calls it.

ok thanks when I have some time I'll play around more to see what systems I can get into. I didn't try and clear the faults yet, but like I said never had a issue with the ASR and I know it works.
