I have decided to sell my 93 500e. The only alternative is to build another garage which i can't afford.

1993 500e. build date 05/93
180,000 miles. black (040) with black interior and matching lower cladding.
completely stock with available reproduction sl wheels. All US standard options except phone and cd changer.
car has been in Georgia since new with exception of a couple years in California. no accidents. exceptional maintainance history. dealer recorded maintainence from new thru 2004 (134,000 miles). reputable independant care from then to present.

some of the good.

wire harnesses replaced
transmision rebuilt
new windshield
new motor and transmission mounts
new headliner
new Hella e-code Euro headlights with wiper delete panels
wheels are 18x8.5 and 10 respectively et 26 with new Michilin 285 and 255 tires
factory cover with storage bag
everything works properly (Becker radio getting finicky in cold temps and should be refurbished)
exterior is virtually flawless. paint, rubbers, chrome, etc is beautiful.
interior is very nice. wood shines like new with no cracks. leather is great. not even a scuff on the drivers seat bolster. an exceptionally well maintained car.
drives as it should and uses no oil.

the bad

the car will need brakes (rotors and pads all around)soon. no braking issues currently. has newer style lower control arms. good time to upgrade to silver arrow brakes.
car has a typical power steering pump leak. pump will need re-sealing in the future.
car will need a TBA in the future. currently no drivability issue.
Johnathan @ Blueridge Mercedes knows this cars condition and can probably answer any questions i can't. Anyone interested please contact me here or preferably by phone.

price is $13,000.00 with the SL wheels.
$12,000.00 with stock wheels and tires. I also have a set of Evo wheels if a buyer prefers.

Beautiful car for a modest price.
Really nice.
More pics from inside? Where is the rest of plastik cover on your engine?

Thanks, 036. My other pics of interior are a bit unfocased. I will try to get some more up in the near future.
I removed the plastic pieces temporarily for better pictures.
I can only take minor credit for the cars condition. most of the upkeep and care was done by previous owners.

This is another situation like Kyle's car -- well-maintained car owned by a knowledgeable enthusiast, for a modest price. You really can't find better bang for the buck out there.

I really hope someone jumps on this soon.

Cheers,
Gerry

Woohoo !! Good work Tanger.

Post some pics of your 993TT. I really love these cars, The last of the real 911 Turbo.
Can't say I like their maintenance though....

I am the lucky new owner of this amazing 500e.... I guess sometimes things happen for a reason & the way this episode played out was quite serendipitous.

Drew is exactly the kind of person that you would hope to buy one of these cars from - a true enthusiast & honest gentleman. His description of the car was extremely accurate (modest, even)... When the guys up at Mototwerks looked over the car during the purchase, none of them could really believe the physical OR mechanical condition considering the miles. Prior to that I spoke with Jonathan @ Blue Ridge about the car & he too was very enthusiastic regarding how well this 500e had been cared for.

I'll post some pictures once I find the right wheels!

Thanks again Drew - it was a pleasure to meet you.

(195910) Quick sale! Congratulations.
The car looks more than worth it.

Thanks! I was a bit supprised myself.

(tanger) Looks like I started a trend over on the Rennlist board. At least this will go to another enthusiast (i'm assuming this is the same car)

Same car. I believe you did start a trend. Interesting comments concerning the E500Es over on Rennlist. I'll be browsing around there in the future as i am a former Porsche owner and share Nicks (new owner)enthusiasm for all things Porsche.

Thanks for the kind words, Nick. I have never had more fun with any car sale! Enjoyed seeing your beautiful widebody 124 coupe and meeting Satish and all the folks at Motorwerks. The car couldn't be in better hands.
Good luck with your search for the right wheels. Please don't tell me those HREs are available in 18 inch or i might have to sell somthing else!
