Are the correct front 500 headrest's the standard headrest or sportline?

Yes, the leather headrests from the 500E and E500 are shared with the leather headrests from pedestrian W124 cars.

There are two part numbers:

124 970 03 50 (leather, up to end of model year 1993)

124 970 93 50 (leather, from E500 chassis #064026)

The pedestrian 124s share these part numbers, if they have leather upholstery.

MB-TEX headrests have two other part numbers, 124 970 53 50 and 124 970 14 78.

Velour headrests have yet another part number, 124 970 97 50.

so the 500e does not use the Sportline headrest? it uses a standardd headrest?

I don't know the difference between a "Sportline" headrest and a normal headrest.

I checked in the EPC before I made the above post, and the EPC indicated what I stated above. The 500E and E500 share the same headrest part numbers as normal leather W124 seats from their respective years.

There is no such thing as a Sportline headrest on the 124 chassis. Only the seat bottom cushion and backrest were different.

Hello:

Both the 16V and SEC cars used "pillow top" pleated headrests where the 500E500s had a simpler plain headrests. I have considered trying to fit 16V or SEC front headrests in my 500E, but have not had the time to try.
