Day-um ... that's a pretty late 1993er ... one of the latest that I now have detailed records of in the database. No prior record of 'er from the past, though.

Always good to have record of the ones that have salvage/are decommissioned.

Thanks for posting.

Cheers,
Gerry

Looks like it is in pretty good shape , especially for 225K miles. Also sold pretty cheap for the shape and damage. 3000-4000$ for proper repairs and car is good to go.

16th from the last 93 imported to USA, based on chassis numbers. The very last (#990521) was a total loss back in 2004. :(

Trivia for the day: Almost all of the 040 cars imported to USA in 93 were built at the end of production for that year. Additionally, of the last 67 chassis imported, 66 of them were non-metallic colors. There were 74 total non-metallics imported in 93 (44 Black, 12 Arctic White, 17 Signal Red, and 1 Midnight blue), the most of any year for USA imports. 1992 only had ~10 non-metallics, 1994 had 32.

If you had a parts car with complete front clip, you might be able to get away with under $4k for labor and paint, maybe. Otherwise it would more like $10k to repair. Lots of expensive items were destroyed... both headlights ($1k new), radiator+condenser+fans (another $1k+), fan clutch destroyed ($500+), fender and hood (over $1k new), dash bent from airbag deployment (6-10 hours labor even if you have a free spare dash laying around). Probably some hidden damage on the engine, and if the bumper is damaged (can't tell from the photos) there's another $1k+. I'd say this one is pretty far gone.

:(

Seems like it would be a snap for a spare parts maven like the Stevester to put back together, though.

Were all of those monochrome (i.e.; NOT two-tone with the lower cladding painted something else)?

I believe that depends on the specific color and model year. All of the 040 Black cars were two-tone with Alto Gray (?) lowers; and I believe all the white cars had contrasting lowers too. But the Signal Red may be monochrome. I can't remember offhand... Rik and Patrick probably know.

Yes, Signal Red is monochrome on the 036. The other colors that are "monochrome" are Midnight Blue and Imperial Red (later cars), and Sapphire Black (009) and Azurite Blue.

It is all in the Wiki as far as color combos.
