At first glance looks like a pristine example in a very desirable color combination. However it depends how well cared it is and agreeable service history. Portland, ME could mean some potential rust issues if not properly mantained, correct? Is the current owner a member from this forum? Anyone is familiar with this car?

Looks fairly comparable in price, mileage and condition with the Dr. No car.

The only difference is that Dr. No's car is very well documented and on top I trust the expert opinion from the all the fellow MB aficionados at this forum about that particular car. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Why don't you contact the seller with your questions on this car Hi-Power? The price has dropped considerably to a realistic price, I bet if someone shows him 20 large it'll get sold. 20 wouldn't be cheap IMO but it could be a good buy on a clean, lower mileage car.

I'm not sure what sort of records one needs, or if there is even any at 55K for this car. A VMI will prolly say all you need to know in a few sentences. What's the big deal having a slip for an oil change from 15 years ago at 12K miles? I'm cannot wrap it around my head why the Dr.s car has not sold yet, but I'm sure it's not because it has all the records.

If would have to figure, but I could be wrong, that this car never saw the winters based on its mileage. Another good question for the seller.

I agree with Jimbo ... at 50K mileage there aren't going to be too many records other than VMI stuff (warranty work) and perhaps oil changes, and any other stuff done by a fastidious owner who was anal about keeping records. I would say that at 50K, most cars (that still exist) probably haven't even had the wiring harnesses replaced yet ! (although IIRC I believe the Dr.No car has indeed had both of the harnesses replaced).

I got my car at 67K, 9 years ago, and it certainly didn't have much in the way of any records. I got my hands on the VMI not long after I got it, but other than "FYI" stuff it really didn't tell me all that much. Records are much more important for cars that have the miles packed on.

Cheers,
Gerry

Already did, and the seller came back to me right away and in a very polite way told me that there is an interested buyer who is flying to ME this coming Wednesday to inspect the car with intention to buy it. I am the second in line, if the sale falls through he will give me the opportunity to buy it.

Ya snooze, ya lose....but for sure there will be another nice one for sale somewhere in the near future.

Indeed, I agree with you on your comment Jimbo. I am confident there is a very nice 124.036 waiting to be mine in the near future

I spoke with him a few weeks ago. Very nice guy. I asked him if any major maintenance has been done on the car and he said no. Original harness(s), SLS suspension, etc. Said he bought it from a guy in Boston at 27,000 miles and rarely drove it. Previous owner did tell him that there was some accident repair in the back and challenged the current owner to find it. Not sure if that means it's a really good repair. Pics look really nice though. I offered him 18-20k contingent on a PPI and he said no. His final price to me was 22k firm.

Several people say they dont understand why the Dr No car has not sold its quite simple, because it is not for sale. I offered full asking price for his car pending a PPI local to him but he did not want to bring it there said he wanted to keep it. Mystery solved on why it has not sold.

I saw the Dr.No car (as well as spending the afternoon with Dr.No at his airport) this past weekend and from all indications I observed, the car did seem to be for sale at the time.

Wonder why all the run around from interested parties then?? You know people being told to bang on his door, PM him and offering full price! Is it or is it not for sale ? With respect, I think we all know that the good Dr's car is one of the best, but one should enlighten what the real deal is. Otherwise take it out of FS .

@nyc123, what was the mood when you last spoke?

The mood was I wasted my time setting up a PPI local to him in Houston and a few hours before he cancelled.

Hmmm, bummer, the Dr. must still be very much attached to his car judging by that move...perhaps surgical removal is necessay(?)

I think the photo shoot gave him (Doc) pause about the sale a month or so ago... now that the shoot is done, things might have changed?

Wonder if the silver one in ME has sold or not.
