This is only about 15 miles from me so I just went to take a look. It was a good excuse to take a nice drive on a sunny 73 degree September day.
The car is at a small classics dealer/repair shop so, being a Saturday evening, I expected to just get a look and not be able to talk to anyone about it, but when I arrived, the owner just happened to be there working on something else. He noticed my car and came out to talk. It was a good thing, too, because the car was inside the shop and I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.
First and foremost, the car is NOT for sale. It seems the owner's son (the computer-literate one) jumped the gun on listing it online. They just bought it a week ago at a dealer auction in Milwaukee. When I commented that it's unusual to find them at dealer auctions, he told me that the previous owner had died 2 years ago, the car had been sitting, and it was donated to the auction to raise funds for a charity. He is now the third owner, and has decided to keep the car and drive it himself. One of his mechanics was there helping him. The guy was clearly from "the old country", although not Germany - his accent sounded more "eastern European", but he just kept ogling my car and saying "beautiful machine". So I liked him.

He told me that his son used to work for Renntech, but eventually left them to venture out on his own.
As for the car - it looks to be an unmolested '94 with 146k miiles. Looks rust-free and straight, although the interior could use a good cleaning. Everything was original as far as I could tell, and I saw no dings at all.
I took the following pictures, with permission. I'll be interested to find out if it's in Gerry's database. I told the owner that if it was, I'd pass on any info that was known.
