Fuel pump needed

I just bought a e500 that has been parked up for 10 years suspect fuel pump failure, will run on easy start were could I buy a fuel pump for the e500 are they the same as any other models ?

The bare pump is Bosch #69608, photo below. As noted above, 2 are required, but if your car is a very late production E500, it could possibly use a different pump (single, smaller diameter). Check before ordering.

I think 69435 may be the same pump as 69608 but with an installation kit consisting of some electrical terminals. (?)

I have always used 69608. Have you checked Amazon for prices, as well?

Also, make sure you check your VIN to be sure that your car uses dual fuel pumps. Depending on the year/when made, MB went to a single-pump design.

Late-build cars use a different pump. Need the last 6 digits of your VIN to confirm, unless you've already been under your cabrio and verified it has dual pumps.

Hi gang. The last six digits of my car's VIN is 972328. Does my car use the single fuel pump or the double fuel pump? Looking in the EPC, the EPC says to use two fuel pumps - part number 003 091 53 01 for cars up to 226335. However, my car's VIN, which is 972328, is greater than 226335. I thought that it is only the very late production E500Es that use single fuel pumps? Mine is a 1993 pre-facelift model, so it is not a late production unit?

Additionally, if I look up 003 091 53 01, I get Bosch #69435. Post #2 says to use Bosch #69435, but post #3 and #5 say to use #69608. Is #69608 the one to use? Thanks.

I bought 2 Bosch pumps in the UK (then shipped to France) from www.doctorcarparts.co.uk
for 142 GBP + shipping
Part # 0580254911
They worked perfectly on my 1994 E500

Jlaa, your car has 2 pumps, 69608. The single-pump change didn't happen until late 1995 USA model year production.

I believe the other Bosch p/n is a "kit" which includes a 69608 pump and some electrical connectors you don't need.

OH, and note the letter before the numbers. B972328 is before C226335. I don't know why MB didn't just use 7 numerals...
