G Class Production Line..

Many thanks for posting the pics Arkady, this affirms my idea about the G-class being the best quality SUV ever made... too bad the prices never come down for these.

I've always really liked these, especially the pre 2002's, but then I drove one and rode in the back seat, I ended up buying a full size Range Rover.

Yes, these beasts have always been overpriced and do LOOK the business - great as security/ramming cars behind a wanted oligarch in a Maybach.

A Range Rover is hard to beat these days, so I guess it's a tough choice between the two.

Talk about hand-built! It is quite a truck. We have a 2005 G500 and enjoy it. Pretty easy to work on too, but the parts are expensive. I have not taken it off-road yet, but plan to at some point. It is really over-built.

Thanks for posting the link.

That is the whole point of G class , otherwise some "cheap" guys will start buying it and the prestige of it will decline dramatically.

The best home garage combination is S class, classic benz like 126/124.036 and G class AMG . Everything else is just not serious .

Well said about the garage combination.. as for price, out of all the newer MBs its the only one that hold value..not good for 2nd hand buyers but its a dream if your buying a brand new one.

For the G-Class enthusiasts, some original Mercedes-Benz posters from the early 90’s. The person who has these was a Mercedes-Benz Engineer at the G-Class production team in the 80’-90’s.
