Hi fellow G-wagon owners and enthusiasts. I have just purchased my dream G-320 , Dec 1994 463.231 M104.99x Engine with 7223 Autobox. I will be hopefully collecting her this Saturday or latest Monday 10th Jan 2022. I am very excited. I am also glad that I came across this Forum. Being a former Land-Rover Defender owner I know what's to come in terms of issues and costs!! I chose this model because it has less electronic controlled parts than the later G-wagons, hopefully no "CANBUS". So I will maintain it myself as best as I can.
As I have read from Gerry's wonderful story and information I am going to perform a Zero baseline maintenance program, starting with the oils and filters and then what ever else needs to be done within my skill level. But, one thing I have found to be very disappointing is that lack of info on Youtube about this particular model and the complete lack of Free technical information there is. I have just been scammed by paying for an online downloadable Repair and Service manual, it would not download and no contact details for help or money back!! It also seems incredible to me that you cannot even purchase a Haynes Manual for this model.
So as a newbie to the site can any kind soul direct me to a legitimate website where I can find the right information, fluids, quantities, torque settings etc. So far, thanks to Gerry's posts and others I have taken down lots of Part numbers that I hope will help me get the right parts for my model. I intend to buy Genuine MB parts as far as possible, unless anyone thinks its not required.
Looking forward to reading more posts and to any support.
Kind regards,
CHL
