Good MB resource for background reading

MB offers a plethora of technical publications for those interested in delving a bit deeper into how diagnostic equipment works, as well as new systems introduced on modern Benzes.

One of the better publications that MB makes for dealership and independent shop service professionals is its "StarTuned" magazine, which used to be available for free online via the startekinfo.com web site. Seems that I can't find the magazine there anymore.

In any case, I was recently doing some detailed and in-depth research into the various generations of DAS (Driver Authorization System) that MB introduced in the 1991-1992 time frame. DAS is the keyless (infrared) system that unlocks the doors of post-124 US Benzes (as well as R129s and W140s and newer models) and allows the vehicle to start using the electronic key.

I came across a cache of back issues StarTuned magazine that was posted to the site "SlideShare.com."

If you are a member of SlideShare, you can download them using the following URL as a starting point. It's a good set of reading material if you are interested in keeping up with MB and general automotive maintenance technology and new systems.
