Buddy with relatives that have a 560SEL are looking for a shop in Tucson, AZ.

When I can't do it myself, I go to the dealer. If you use the dealer in Tucson, Kenny T. is the tech you want. I think he's been there since he graduated from college and he's got to be getting close to retirement by now. He'll be the tech whose bays are packed with the older cars like ours and has probably forgotten more about these cars than I will ever know -- like Col. Klink. The tough part about using the dealer is battling with the service advisors who seem to be motivated to charge you as much as they can possibly get away with. Maybe a good reason to try Motorwerks.

Emery I have a tech at the shop that cut his teeth on 126/124 starting back in 89. He always holds a class if I bring in my car(s) for something.

I suspect there are other good techs at that dealer too, but I've always dealt with Kenny. The new building seems to have been designed to prevent access by customers to the garage -- You can't even get there unless you have Michelle or Liz in parts go back and get the tech who will come out front and talk. Not like it used to be where you could walk by and see the cars, and even walk in and say hello. I don't think they want customers like us with older cars who know enough to do most of our own work. They seem to have shifted their business model over the years into becoming a lease company, doing warranty work on disposable, substandard products, targeting people with more money than they know what to do with. Just my 2 cents.

My guy brought me back to the bay to give a history to 20 somethings that never really worked on these analog style cars. All had twitter thumbs and clean fingernails. So it was pretty fun to talk to people about the history of the E500 and for that matter, the the Roadhouse car as they referred to it.
