Any chance in getting the late style euro lenses?

Michael
It's a day late and a dollar short for bringing home additional parts than what I've committed to above. I've already more than doubled the quantity of parts that I have committed to order and bring home with me, and I am praying that the airlines don't charge me additional cargo fees. If they do, I will "eat" these costs, but hopefully my United Premier Platinum status will allow me to bring two large boxes with me at no additional luggage fee....

Payment sent.

Thank you Gerry!!

I'll take a drivers side boot as well should it become available, let me know.

Mark

Thanks to all who have paid today.

The single driver's side mirror boot that will go to Melville has been ordered. The other parts order will be submitted on Monday.

I have updated the first post with current status of payments received.

Cheers,
Gerry

Gerry, where did you get these? I need two pre-facelift lenses but the right one seems to be NLA. Any idea where I can get these in Europe?

Any dealer [outside the USA] should be able to get them given the part numbers I provided above.

There is plenty of stock in Europe of these pre-facelift headlight lenses for the 500E.

Gerry -

Can I get one of the mirror boots (if you do not get a timely response from the two who reserved them)?

Robert

Robert,

A spot has opened up for one of the passenger side boots (all that is available) and I will slot you in. Please remit payment per instructions.

Cheers,
Gerry

Just to support Gerry on this, I would recommend Speed Autoteile as an immediate available source here in "Urop". They provide OE & OEM parts to most of the German car brands + several others, give splended service and ships world wide. I'm not sure about their price level compared to other suppliers, but I've experienced they were not the steepest on my purchases.

Status in the first post has been updated.

Parts order is being placed tonight. I am moving up payment date by 1 day, so that all payments MUST be received by noon PDT on Monday, September 14th. No exceptions - people have had plenty of notice and I offered a wide window for payment.

There are a couple of folks who are in danger of their parts not being ordered because of non-payment. I will not "advance" personal funds to cover for those folks who have not paid.

Note: if payment is received after the deadline, it will be refunded in full.

OK, we've had a couple of folks back out at the last minute (and a no-show or two), and alternates come into the mix. You see why we have the alternates ?!?

Thanks to those who have paid up !!!

I'm making a run up to Jackasic-Headquarters (Feind Motorsports, in College Station/Bryan, TX) later this afternoon, and when I get back tonight the final order is being posted to Germany !! Parts will be picked up on Friday morning -- I am heading directly to Mercedes from the Munich Airport after my flight from London lands. Of course I'll take photos of my cache. It's going to require a G-wagen to load everything up!!

Cheers,
Gerry

97.jpg98.jpg99.jpg100.jpgLast night I had a little mishap here in London. I was climbing into a taxi and my left foot slipped on a wet curb, rolled and I heard a loud "snap!"

It hurt like hell and swelled up to the size of a baseball on the top & side of my foot. I was with my boss and I wasn't about to let that stop me, so we continued on to the pub and the pain was temporarily alleviated by the quaffing of four proper Imperial pints.

Needless to say, this morning my foot was not happy, so I walked hobbled across the street from my hotel to an NHS hospital and got my foot x-rayed. Turns out it was fractured and so, I'm in a walking boot for the next six weeks. I decorated my boot later today with a Union Jack decal and will do same with a German flag when I arrive there. I'll be collecting the parts after my arrival tomorrow morning.

Cheers
Gerry

Ouch! At least you'll be in countries (UK, Germany) where its quite easy (and not altogether unpleasant) to continue to self-medicate yourself. Hope that you feel better soon. Yet another reason to drive/own AT MB's and avoid manuals!

Yeah I was going to drive the Pagoda on the Fall Tour this weekend ... Looks like it will be the 6.3 now...

Oh man, Gerry, sorry to see/hear this . You can blame the damn weather we have here in London, been wet a fair bit lately. Good thing the local NHS treated you , and yeah right opposite your hotel .

Sorry we couldn't hook up this time sir .

Ouch!! :| that was a bad incident!! Especially when travelling, everything slows up quite a bit. I hope you fly 1st. class or business overseas so you have more space with that leg, if not your insurance should cover a ticket upgrade for that reason.

Take care,
-arnt-

Ouch! I've been in your shoe (boot) before and know the pain. Here's to a quick recovery.

Cheers!

Santa Claus .....

All parts & boots received in good order and packed for transit. I will personally deliver the pair of lenses ordered by savmjv to him here in Munich on Monday. It took an hour and a half to pack everything. Also one complete Yurro E500 complete headlight for Klink. 103.jpg104.jpg105.jpg106.jpg107.jpg108.jpg109.jpg110.jpg

What a way to rally! Thanks for everything and hope the remainder of the trip goes well for you.

Sweet! Gerry, make sure to plaster "Fragile / Glass" labels all over those cubes before you hand them over to the airline. "Top Load Only" wouldn't hurt either. Does the airline offer insurance for damage?

:duck:

Hmm...I think it looks better than the sedan, which I find has odd proportions.

Sorry to hear about your foot, though you don't seem like one to self-loathe. So I'm glad your spirits still seem high. Please drink a nice quality pils for me while in the fatherland, none of that in-bev crap.

I am on the fall driving tour and we are in northern Bavaria about 40 km west of Nuremburg out in the country. This area specializes in carp (fish). But my dinner was a rib eye steak with kräuterbutter (herb butter) and salad along with an Oktoberfest beer, two dark hefeweizens & a locally brewed IPA. First time I've ever drank a German ale of any type......128.jpg129.jpg130.jpg131.jpg

And a couple of carp dishes that folks ordered.

Erdinger is indeed a tasty brew, and I'm not just saying that because they contribute to my paycheck (which they do).

We can get that here in the states, Ken.

I am about 12 km from the Erdinger brewery right now (coincidentally, it's in the town called Erding).

Today is my last day here, and I'm taking it very easy after a very rough day yesterday at the Oktoberfest. I won't tell you how much beer I drank but I will say that I don't remember the U-Bahn (subway) and S-Bahn (regional train) train ride from the Thereisenwiesen (Oktoberfest grounds) to the northern suburb of Freising, where a friend's wife picked us up. Somehow I was able to change from the U-Bahn to the S-Bahn in the massive Munich Hauptbahnhof (main central railway station) and this involved coming up from the underground and then changing train lines to one of the indoor train platforms. And with a broken foot...Oy!

I am told that I was speaking German and babbling when we got picked up at the train station for the short ride home -- something about me being "The Führer" and having the exclusive rights to the back seat of the W220 S-class sedan. I guess everyone else was supposed to ride in the trunk or up front [emoji15]

Anyhoo, it was a hot sunny day & we sat outside and enjoyed it. We sat at the Augustiner tent, which is the best brewery -- the only one of the 6 that serves their Oktoberfest beer out of traditional oak barrels. The beer is 7% alcohol by volume (strong) and cost EUR 10.10 per liter (Maß), which is one glass mug.

I slept for almost 12 hours after getting home. Didn't even take my clothes off or remove my plastic boot on my foot !!

Tomorrow early morning I'm heading back home with all of the parts that we packed up on Friday. So it's likely that most orders will be going out to y'all on Friday & Saturday morning.

Talk to all of you guys soon!!

Cheers,
Gerry149.jpg150.jpg151.jpg152.jpg153.jpg

Never been to Octoberfest! Looks like fun- anything with good food and beer- I'm in!

Bummer on the London accident. You are extremely luckly though.. know more than one whom have lost their balance in an event like that and there entire body weight comes down with the fall and shatter bones.

Excellent order headlight lenses!!

I have been smiled upon by the Gods of MB parts.

Evidently the old ladies in Eastern Europe who are responsible for squishing out W124 rubber mirror boots repaired their machines and are still squeezing a few here and there ....

I was able to procure TWO of the driver's side boots in addition to the 5 passenger-side boots that were originally ordered. My MB parts friends managed to scrounge up not just one, but TWO of the "NLA" driver's mirror boots.

Both are already spoken for and sold, but I thought I'd provide some photos of these "unobtanium" phantom boots that list at well over $300 apiece......
