I’ve got a ‘92 400e pre-facelift car with Euro headlights.
I’m looking for a set of headlight trim panels without the wiper holes.
Used is fine, don’t care which color.
I’m deleting my headlight wiper setup.

If you’ve got a set you can sell I’d love to hear from you.

Sorry , i checked & the 2 sets I have are not what you want. They have the holes for wipers

I deleted mine on my 500E and looks so much cleaner and nicer. I got a pair from ebay and they do pop up now and then.

OP if you are looking for the part and dont mind the color and are probably painting to match, it looks to be possible to just get one with holes and plug it, or plug the hole on your old one, and paint it?

The ones with holes in are NLA, I’d happily trade with you!

Almost all the panels are NLA except for the pre-facelift (MOPF 0/1), 1986-1993 for Euro headlights+wipers (#07 and #08). Everything else, either one or both sides are NLA new.

The blank panels are relatively hard to find in USA because almost all USA 124's came with headlight wipers as standard equipment. I've seen some people make their own blank panels by welding a piece of flat metal to cover the holes, then filling in the front side and sanding it smooth. If you want blank panels, that's one way to do it (but, it's a lot of work).

You can use a pre-facelift panel with facelift headlights, or vice-versa, the only difference is the inside edge of the panel will not line up exactly with the lens shape... but nobody will notice.

Shoot, a concours judge in CA didn't even catch that an otherwise mint 500E had wrong headlight wipers with USA trim panels on Euro headlights!! (Third photo below)... that car got 1st place in the show.

Thank you Dave for setting the record straight as per usual when I’m too fast.

In Sweden wipers/washers were mandatory until we entered the EU in 1994, so every single Swedish sold 124 had them.

As an aside:
I’ve got two used pairs of these headlight panels WITH holes available if anyone in the States needs them. One US and one Euro set.
Both in 199 paint code and of course with some pitting.

In the UK we have Euro head lights by default and lots of low spec non headlight wiper cars
I dont know what the tarif situation is and shipping may be high but if you see a pair on UK e-bay
that look like what you need and the seller wont ship I will be happy to get them for you then post
them out. US based members have been very helpfull to me in the past

Turn on headlights, then run the windshield washer squirters. The headlight wipers will run automatically for a short cycle.
