HELLA Crank position sensor, correct?

That Hella sensor is aftermarket, not OEM, but should work ok. Dunno how long it will last but at 1/3 the price of OE/OEM it's worth a try. Don't worry about the visual difference.

Don't force it on - I had a similar scenario some time ago and believe I damaged an EZL with a tight fitting crank sensor plug.Unfortunately the plug side is pretty tight on the EZL… basically have to force it on because the plastic diameter on the terminal of the plug is too small… UGH!

In this instance it is mercedes dealer only for the crank sensors to ensure proper fitment and quality
If the Bosch has a metal shell at the sensor end, apply anti-seize before installing into the bracket. Otherwise they can corrode in place causing a real nightmare the next time it has to come out.
The AB/K version has a plastic sensor end, but I believe those are NLA via aftermarket channels. Not sure what you get in the box for $175 from the dealer nowadays.

To update, the Bosch one from FCP is indeed the metal housing sensor...wah wah wahhhh. I'll be sure to grease it up well before install and will be on the hunt for another OEM version in future... or I'll repair the original. regardless, must move ONWARD!
