Help looking at a W210 E55 in Long Island NY

Don Tydeman lives in Westbury I think, or maybe it is Old Westbury...he sold his .036 a few years ago but might be game to check it out for you. Hellava nice guy Don is IMO.

What kind of wine we talkin' here ? Boone's ? 8-)

A case of boone's if that's your speed ;)

Made an offer to seller but not sure he will accept (didn't lowball but local buyer may be able to offer more due to shipping. Also carfax shows damage which is related to vandalism but can't verify until I get PPI done).

Will reach out to you if I'm moving forward. Thanks!

What made you pursue a W210 vs. W211 E55?
I don't know much about either, just wondering what your reasons were.
Seems that the W211 E55s are not that much more $$$$.

Call me old skool, don't like the lines of the W211 as much. Plus, I have an affinity for the cars I lusted for while in college or shortly thereafter that I couldn't afford/justify back then...

It's a no brainier as long as there is no front strut rust issue, but low miles makes it a good hedge. I bought the same car for $18k with 38k miles and put 5k mi on it so far and its a terrific dd. People were on line & paying $15k over MSRP when they came out and it was one of the top of the line MB. Also, for 15-16k you won't mind putting on miles unlike a 124. As far as the downside, you're probably looking at fluids change, motor and trany mounts, rotors, pads, tires & alignment, some paint correction and a few other wear and refurb issues. Oh and btw, cheaper than a used honda accord. Mel, you're welcome to drive mine anytime. Regards,

The only drawback to a 210 IMO is the weird places where rust develops on them, and not just on the spring perches either.

I do like the Boone's btw, especially if I'm buyin' . I'd respectfully request a bottle of Balvenie though if I were to help out on this one... 8-)

Deal!

I think we r close on price , may get it inspected early next week. Am also wary of rust issues given NY car but supposedly only used from spring to fall. PPI should reveal any rust issues hopefully...

Just waiting to get confirmation from seller on terms...

Aside for any rust issues, make sure you ask the indy/shop doing the PPI for you to check thoroughly for any corrosion on the air intake intake. Common problem with the 113.980 engine, which is worth around 2K with parts & labor.

Looks like I won't get this one. Someone willing to pay more than me. Don't mind it at all- good for the seller. Hunt continues, have a lead on a silver 30k miler in LA but prefer the dark gray...
