Hello,

Need some guidance on how to remove the Driverside Bumper Joint Cover. I lost mine and a friend is willing to have me remove his so it can be fabricated. Those that have installed and removed can you provide some direction on how to remove it? I hope the bumper doesn't have to be removed. We were looking underneath and it is not attached by any screws it seems to slide maybe a 1/4 inch up and down but that's it. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

It is a friction fit with some tabs that snap into slots on the bumper, IIRC. It should pry out, but be careful. It isn't likely you would damage the cover/insert, but you don't want to damage the bumper itself.

Also note the exact position when fully seated (i.e., take some good close-up photos before removing it). There are stories on the forum from owners who replaced the covers with new, only to have them fall out on the road because the insert/cover was not fully clicked into place. This wasn't a big deal back when you could buy new ones from the dealer...
