This was a strange occurrence a couple days ago. I had moved my 300E-24 out of my carport so I could install new LED lamps (In the carport - it can be seen from space now!)
Anyways I left the 300 running for about half an hour and suddenly could hear it miss a little and die out. I went over to it and it wouldn't re-start. Not so much as a fart out of it. Just cranking. Thought it might be moisture under the dizzy cap but no it was in nice condition.
My gut told me it was ignition related so I let it sit for a couple hours until dark and had someone crank it whilst I observed.
And there it was - a small fireworks show! The ignition coil was arcing to itself and had to be replaced. I had spares on hand so it was running again a few minutes after discovering this. Thats a first for me seeing a coil fail like that. This is the same ignition coil as a 500E FWIW.
