Freshening up another V8 car....these are kinda expensive IMO to buy new ($1000+).

Does anyone have a good used one?

@Jimbo, I also have a spare 4.2-liter EZL, part number 014 545 45 32.

It was used in the 400E, model year 1993 up to VIN number B965056; and also in W140 models 1993 through 1995.

It's taking up shelf space, so I am happy to let it go for a smallish price ($75 shipped).

It is currently available from MB for $1,100+ list, ~$825 discounted.

Gerry, do you happen to have another one?

I have one if Gerry does not.

013 545 6? 32 Came from a known working 1992 400E. I'll mirror Gerry's price if needed.

After re educating myself with a forum search I see that my unit is only appropriate for 92 model years up to a chassis break in 93.

Apologies.

I still struggle with the differences between 034s and 036s. The 036's ezl works pretty well across all model years, as well as V8 129s and W140s.

Yeah, it's confusing... the 5.0L EZL's all supercede to the newest number, and AFAICT are all interchangeable.

However, the 4.2L units have a VIN or engine number break point. Some may be interchangeable but I don't know which combinations work properly.

Chassis is irrelevant, which helps... only thing that matters is displacement.
