Information on Carlsson Supercharged S211

Hello all,

Unfortunately I don't have a 500E (yet), but I was given a W211 S211 (2004) E500 Estate Carlsson Edition (CK50S) last august. I'm trying to find out more about how many cars Carlsson made / tuned, especially for my specific model.

Although I'm curious myself, the real reason is that my youngest son (6yo) has shown some interest in cars in general, and loves the supercharged V8 noise the car makes when I give it the beans, so I want to regal (bore?) him with details about how rare the car is, etc. It would be good to have someone to take to car shows with me!

Any help gladly received! Photos below for those interested.

Cheers,

Mike.

Those are really nice, and one of the most desirable (for me at least) wagons out there. Loads of space, power and they seem to be well built too. Carlsson unfortunately folded recently, but it will probably not hurt Carlsson vehicle values, on the contrary I would assume. Try to find out what exactly was done by Carlsson, like a lot of these tuner companies, it can be anything from wheels and some badges to a full engine rebuild and everything in between. Are there any paperwork etc?

Hi Thomas, thanks, it really is quite the joy to waft about in. I'd previously owned a W210 E55 saloon, which was brilliantly silly, but this is a step up from there. You've actually spotted the issue that I'm having - I was looking at this like it was a Carlsson built car (like an AMG, etc), rather than the actual fact that the car was a standard E500 that was then sent off to be upgraded. I looked up on "Howmanyleft" website, and there is only one Carlsson registered on the road in the UK, so I suppose that tells me everything I need to know (and try to impress my youngest into loving cars). The car itself has had suspension, brake, interior, and exhaust upgrades, as well as the supercharger addition giving it a 'healthy' 435bhp, which is plenty. The most surprising thing is that it's 47kgs lighter than the VW ID3 my wife drives, and only 1cm wider. It will surprise you in now way to learn that it sounds better than said VW......

I missed the Fiat Coupe there :) They are awesome too!
It's a lovely car in general, although it's currently undergoing some work (awaiting a new fuel pump. Also needs new pads, discs, and a respray). It's been in the family since new (1997), so it's a keeper. Love that Coupe! Lovely colour too, green on tan leather. I can see why you're holding on to it, I would do the same! Did it survive ok corrosion wise?
