500E Instructions needed for manual HVAC controls

HI Peeps, I have just read my owners manual and of course it does not tell me what the buttons on my heating controls do.
Anyone shine a light on what the 3 buttons inbetween the rotary controls do? button with EC and the one above

EC = Economy mode where the AC compressor will never engage.

I think the button above that is for max defrost? We did not get the manual climate control system in North America, so we'll need a forum member from across the pond to educate us...

Ah max defrost might make sense. Thanks on EC.

I also managed to find myself a genuine AMG lip spoiler. Thinking of installing that.
 
The upper button force the drying function of the AC. It is supposed to be used when windows are fogging up. The system also can engage the drying automatically.

EC button is AC compressor off. The system still tries to regulate temperature as per usual. In cold climate it works good.

The bottom one is recirculating air. 😊
 
Here’s the pages from the Euro owners manual, this is for a 1993 MY but the button layout is the same. Sorry for the glare on 6822, but the glared text only describes the airflow which doesn’t need a description really.
