Intermittent fuel leak

Hi everyone,
My 93 500 has been leaking fuel upon start up if not used for a couple of days. The leak however only lasts a couple of minutes and heals itself. It seems like it dumps excess fuel - but on both times it happened it had less than a half tank full. No hard starting and the engine runs smoothly when this happens. The fuel puddle on the floor is beneath the differential - the fuel pumps area is totally dry. Any ideas as to what can be wrong?

Sounds the feed hose from the tank, which is directly above the differential.

I'm assuming it can't be the high pressure hose because that wouldn't fix itself after a few minutes.

You'll want to get this diagnosed and fixed ASAP...

After you get the immediate issue diagnosed and addressed, it would be a good idea to do a wholesale replacement of ALL those rubber fuel lines and plastic check valves / etc. down there. Assuming much of the stuff is all original, it is all ripe for replacement --- to avoid a car-b-q! :bbq:
