Is this M119 ?

In a few days this 2004 DTM car comes to auction.

Looking at images from the motor compartiment, i believe it has an M119 under the bonnet. Is this correct?


When having an account, one can check the documentation.
There i found the bore and stroke.

Rik, custom V8 based on what production engine? Or were these bespoke/works engines?

I am not sure if its based off of any production engine. If it were, I would assume it's a M113. The 6 cylinder DTM engine carried a designation of M106, but I have never seen any reference to the V8 though.

My initial take clocked them as M113K M156 valve covers.

A HWA employee claims the 2000 DTM V8 comes from the CLR !!


My thoughts were maybe it hat to do with the M106 DTM V6 from the W202.
In the last saison it had 94 mm bore. Same as the DTM V8. Maybe same pistons?
And since the M106 initially came from the 119.971, i figured it made sense.
