hello all
im facing a problem in my 1992 500E
the kick down not working always, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt work. any suggestions?
NOTE: my car needs transmission fluid and filter change, could that be the reason?
thanks

I was struggling with kickdown in my 500E myself for some months, here is what you should be checking:
Is the solenoid (right side of the transmission) connected?
Is the solenoid energizing?
Is the bowden cable connected and properly adjusted?

Hello and thank you for ur reply
Can u please explain to me which solenoid i should check? If possible in a picture.

The solenoid is located at the right side of the transmission. You need to go under the car to see it.
A picture is attached. The metal part is inside the black part, and a wire should be attached to the black part. The entire unit is attached to the transmission.

Another couple photos... this stuff is located at the passenger side of the rear tailshaft housing, below/behind where the secondary pump would be through 1992 models.

Hello,
Is the kick-down solenoid the same that is active when "B" is selected by gearstick or is there another one for it?

Yes, it is the same solenoid, triggered by either the "B" switch, or the switch under the accelerator pedal. However the circuit is not always energized, IIRC... check the wiring diagrams.
