Am looking for a set of no longer produced Sachs 102488 struts.
If somebody can find a set or give me a hint where to search I would be super thankful!

Having everything together for a full underbody refurbish for the R129 600SL, except the nla front struts.
Original MB is NLA worldwide too, except for a single strut in South Africa...

Are these par to of the hydraulic suspension?

I guess it is possible to rebuild them like the.036 and W126 rears. If not better don't ask!
Its not legal and TÜV approved to convert a 600sl to a standard R129 suspension and I don't know an aftermarket suspension for the 600 too...
Mine are still somewhat ok (not leaking and rubbers look ok too) but having all the other parts brandnew original MB or from a 20k miles parts car I would hate to install the old front struts.

Did not know that!

You know what I find interesting, US/DOT, for ages and ages, required "US spec" specific headlights (poor visibility) and "reinforced" front and rear bumpers compare to Euro versions, and somehow, in most states, suspension conversion is not an issue as with TUV, some states have no safety inspections at all, and in Virginia in particular, once the car is of age, and registered as "Classic" then, pretty much anything goes!
