Lower windshield fogging with AC on

Hi Everyone... The lower windshield of my 500E fogs up when the AC is on. The old defroster pod had a leak in 1 port so I put in a new pod but it still fogs up. The flap lever moves as it should but I noticed that it does not fully extend to fully closed position - a small amount of cold air still comes out of the defroster vents.

Is there a way to adjust the pod to actuate the flap lever to fully close? Since I live in a tropical country and the heater is not used, I plan to disconnect the pod metal shaft from the flap lever and just manually set it to closed position if there is no other resolution.

Any other possible fix for this? Btw, all other AC functions work.
