Curious what everyone is doing to replace the decaying foam AC evap drain hoses on either side of the center console.

These guys (see pic) that aren't avail, I think they're on R129, all W124, W140, W202 and possibly others.

I think I mentioned that this hose is NLA in my owners thread or maybe I forgot, it's NLA for more than a year atleast. As a replacement just use regular rubber or silicone hose, this is what I did. Here you can see them sticking out.

You don't need to remove the transmission to replace them. Just saying.

These 124 units were sadly an engineering marvel compared to the 126. Imagine my chagrin when I noticed water in the carpets and saw a crushed coil spring with remnants of wet foam all over the seat pan/tunnel. I fashioned a 1/4" pvc elbow and a corresponding hose to be sure that this issue never happens in the C126 again. I have spares for the 124, but they are NIB OE. Surprisingly they still are perfect on my car.

Finally my advice would be useful here)
It's really cool that all enthusiasts and petrolheads share their experience on the forum.
As for drain hoses - here is the best way to solve this problem

Thanks for the tip! Tube 210-830-03-96 is $11.50 list price, or about $9 from discount dealers:

That's amazing. I was looking at hoses from other MB to see (W116 actually look like they will work as well... but didn't buy them yet to test, and they still avail and not NLA surprisingly even though it's an older model MB)

So these 210- hoses will mate up, same diameter, clip on and reach thru the floor? That's cracking great news ! Much better than my aquarium hose idea.

Thanks for any additional info. Great stuff.

Yes, these hoses fit without any problems. My mechanic has replaced them years ago on his 3.0-24… and it's he, who told me this stuff)
