750,000km ....1 hand and transmission overhauled once..now that's THE Mercedes-Benz
 
Can anyone translate this for me? Whats the general condition? I might be interested at the right price!

Well at least any issues it has can be explained by the high mileage. Pretty impressive.

Slightly off-topic, but I've noticed this before with other owners: why do people turn off the blower? The system is thermostat controlled, so just setting it to 22C (as opposed the current "Sahara setting" ) and you're done. Except of course when the duo-valve is broken, but that doesn't explain other instances where I saw this.
 
I'd buy it, fix it, and drive it to 1,000,000 kms!!! Bummer about the rust though. Makes you wonder what other rust is not visible.

I would bother with this is one unless you have deep pockets as it will require lots of work, rust will come back and you'll have that odometer at 750kkm hanging on your head. (unless of course you want to donate it later to MB museum after putting it right) .

Search frequently on "mobile.de" . There are a few low mileage early models at a bargain like these:

Something like these would be a good starter for first timers. Widen your search if you are really serious - no harm crossing the channel since there are no taxes involved! :deniro:
 
Bloody hell Bing both those 91 models look excellent for the price. Maybe I need to broaden my search out to Germany.

I still have to see that 93 500E, black w/cream leather for £8k, seeing it at the back end of Feb...

I just can't seem to find the right car :( Ideally looking for brilliant silver or black for sub £9k...you'd think people would be doing deals in this economic climate.

However those £14k dealer cars the UK don't seem to be selling so I might need to put in a really cheeky offer on one of those :P
