MINI GROUP BUY - 500E "Euro" Headlight Lenses & Mirror Boots

I am in Europe for the next 9 days and have the opportunity to purchase and bring home TWO sets of 500E "Euro" headlight lenses, and as many pairs of W124 mirror boots as I can carry.

If you are interested in purchasing a set of either, please let me know ASAP. I want to place the order by Thursday morning European time, and will require payment via PayPal in full before ordering.

Because I will be bringing only TWO sets of lenses home, there will be no additional luggage or duty charges for the lenses. The costs will be as follows:

500E Headlight Lenses: $390/pair shipped in the US

W124 mirror boots: $300/pair shipped in the US

Please PM me if interested in either. Again, I can only accommodate TWO sets of the 500E Euro lenses.

I am definitely IN for a pair of mirror boots.

I would also like to buy a pair of lenses! I have a 94, with one incorrect lense on the passenger side :-(

I will buy the pair of lenses, but if anyone out there just needs the driver's side, let me know.

I also need the headlight bucket for a 94, does anyone have a used one? The tabs that help retain the lense are broken on my headlight bucket on passenger side...

Thomas, a number of people bought pre-facelift 500E lenses to install on E500 headlamp assemblies, who may have the new E500 lenses you need right here in the USA. One set just sold within the past week or so. Might be easier to obtain that way, and free up Gerry's space to get stuff that isn't already in the US. Just a thought!

I think you can swap out all your E500 USA light internals into a standard E320/E420 USA housing, but it will be quite a bit of work.

Pardon my ignorance but please explain/show me the correct and incorrect Euro lense. I am interested in updating my 93 but I want to make sure I do it the correct way.

If you have a USA-spec 500E (note: your location is not in your profile), you need complete 500E Euro headlight assemblies. As has been recently discussed, one side is no longer available new. So, you have to buy E500 headlight assemblies (either US or Euro spec) and swap on the 500E Euro lenses. Total cost is north of $1k USD.

I should have a headlight bucket from a 94/95 E320/420 you should be able to transfer in the E500 reflectors and then add the new headlight door to complete the headlight.

Gsxr should be able to confirm this, but I think this is possible.

Thanks all for the headlight info... I must say I am confused :-(

I am pretty sure my car previous owner broke the headlight lense and replaced it with a standard lense.

It is not looking good that I will be able to go from my current location in Barcelona to Munich, because my flight was cancelled due to the Lufthansa strike this week. I have re-booked for a new flight on Friday morning to Munich, but it's also probable this flight will also be cancelled. If that is the case, then I will cancel the trip to Munich entirely.

This means that I can't pick up the parts order. So, for those who have already paid me, I will refund your payments in full.

My apologies about this, but it's just too uncertain to proceed, and I want to be in a situation where I can deliver as promised. At this point, I can't promise anything because I don't even know for sure whether I'll be able to make it to Germany.

Sorry for the false start on this -- just a victim of circumstances.

If you don't get a notice that I've refunded your paypal payments, please let me know.

An update: I cancelled my trip to Germany entirely because I couldn't get a reasonably priced alternative flight on any other airline. So I'll be coming home 4 days early. The Lufthansa flights were all cancelled.

Will issue refunds today via PayPal, if their refund mechanism is back up & running.

Well, I just got back home a few minutes ago. Bummer that I wasn't able to enjoy the weekend in Munich, but that's how things go.

Three nights in a row haunting the bars in the narrow streets & alleyways of the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona until 3-4 AM with my work colleagues was a close second in terms of raw fun. Unfortunately, given my advancing age ... three consecutive nights was all my poor body (and liver) could handle. I actually developed a semi-decent taste for Estrella Damm beer.

Refunds have now been issued to everyone per PayPal. Please let me know if there are any problems or they don't come through.

Again -- sorry that I wasn't able to consummate the deal.
