My ownership paper says "reconstruit" in french (Quebec state) equals to rebuilt (Ontario). I have no problem to drive the car anywhere (including USA) since it passed inspection (Quebec) after the repair (front left corner no airbags involved). This inspection is done & necessary only once in order to confirm the return on the road and actually it returns the car as it was before thus no further inspection or anything.

For the customs we have 2 options: 1. the owner to declare it as export Ca or the buyer to declare it as import from Ca. In general you must be asked at any local authority who is the owner of the car and to prove it by legal document which in our case should be my export permission from US officer or your import permission thus the customs want to control the trade even if we are in NAFTA.

Since i can import US salvage title into Canada, there is a way to do the opposite but i can t take that risk if i show a no dealer repair letter. It is not worth it for me for that money. And like i said if the officer want to work by the book he should call and confirm this repair letter with the invoice which makes sense for them.

I am pretty sure a simple trade court case by lowyer might resolve it quickly but that involves extra $$$ and time. Anyways for me it will be easier to sell it here in Canada.

In general when you import in US Customs will ask for DOT (canadian 500E is in their system and EPA conformity (my car has the "yellow" US emission sticker).
