No V8 Delivery Next Year - Supply Chain

As someone who has had a V-8 on order since before the pandemic, and has had its delivery delayed multiple times due to supply chain issues, I had not yet heard this news. The above news makes sense, based on previous communications I have had from the dealership.
If it is indeed confirmed to be true, that is a very disheartening occurance.
I am wondering if MB is going to use this excuse of supply chain issues to accelerate the shutdown of production of V-8 models, and to accelerate its time frame for ramping up production of hybrid and all-electric models. It seems like it could be a catalyst move.

There’s a G63 on display at the MB stadium here in Atlanta. They may want to pull it and put it into inventory
