I received permission from forum member linjam to post photos of the ICE install in his 1992 500E. This is what he had to say about his current set-up:

"This has been a very difficult car to get to sound good -- many years and lots of money and time on many different systems, learning a lot in the process. It sounds great now, but still not where I want it."

This is what he installed:

Pioneer Stage 4 Head Unit
Trunk mounted Audison and Thesis amps
Alpine rear fill speakers
Audison Bit One processor
Focal BE kit No.7 passive speaker system with two 6.5 inch woofers installed in the front doors
Two JL Audio 10W6v2 woofers installed in the trunk
Lots of Dynamat

So now is when I get to eat some crow....yes, the photos below are indeed sideways and yes, I realize that I recently commented on another thread about sideways/upside-down photos. It's probably user error, but something tells me it might have something to do with vBulletin.

I promise I didn't take them sideways ;-)

For those having this rotation problem, can't you simply "EDIT" the post with pictures "Pre-Rotated 90 degree's to the right?

OR, do you have to make sure when you take a picture, that the rotation of the camera always keeps the "widest" side of the picture, parallel to the horizon.

It looks like all your pictures are taken with the widest side as the vertical. Or is this site doing that anyway?

Is anyone experimenting with this, there so many threads with this problem, and I don't see any solutions.

I'll try tomorrow with a few pictures to see what's happening, or has this wheel been invented already?

Nice sound system install BTW...

Rotation of screen shot test - screen capture of your first photo, rotated it back upright, and a straight copy/save and upload to site...Hmm, looks like it works from a PC, I'll try from a smart phone tomorrow, rotating both ways.

An informative thread like this is one thing, but those who are selling something, how can you leave the pictures rotated and expect everyone to adjust. If you selling something put your best foot forward, fix the pix..!

Are those custom door cards, or are they available somewhere? Looks great.
The only off-the-shelf door panels I'm aware of for 124 chassis are the Jehnert doorboards - lots of info & photos available if you search the forum and Google.

IMHO, the only way quick & efficient way for an enthusiast to get GREAT stereo, especially in a car, is to use an electronic cross-over with "room correction" software.

Check out: https://www.minidsp.com/products/dirac-series/ddrc-24

For our HP veterans, one of your alumni, Siegfried Linkwitz (yes, co-inventor of the Linkwitz-Riley cross-over), has made some AMAZING speakers using digital electronic cross-overs. I have made his LX mini speakers, and with or without a sub, it's absolutely aurally orgasmic.
