Quick question. I have a 1992 500E and my passenger side rear window regulator is broken. The cable is getting tangled. I have not taken it apart yet.

Question: Will a passenger side rear regulator out of any W124 series car work?

Thanks in advance.

Yep, any W124 sedan/wagon regulator should work... lower miles preferred of course. There was a VIN break somewhere which I think is related to the wiring connections (?) but physically it should be a straightforward swap.

I once replaced a rear regulator with an aftermarket Magneti-Marelli unit, which is a different design than the factory. It worked well and seemed to be of decent quality. You can get via AutohausAZ.com

Cheers,
Gerry
