Seems to replace the steering wheel need kit for matching up the wiring.
Parts kit and slip ring #000 460 0049.
Looking to purchase.
Thanks.

Swap the required parts from the old wheel to the new one, if the new one lacks the slip ring / contact ring.

Old one mechanic is concerned about breaking so ordering package from MB dealership.

The mechanic need not worry. There's nothing to break here.

Slip ring 000-460-00-49 had been NLA, let us know if the dealer is able to supply one!

Being told that sportline wheel noted at 95 should fit the 93 noted factory wheel

Did the facelift from 93-94 change the steering g wheel?
Yes, the 1994-up facelift cars use a contact spiral instead of a contact ring. The two designs are totally different and none of the parts are interchangeable.

A late steering wheel (1994-up) will fit an older car with the appropriate contact ring installed.

Late wheels are backwards compatible. Early wheels are not forward compatible without cutting/drilling.

Using Wood and carbonworks wheel.
have another vendor suggestion?
thx

Got this sorted.
The Wood and Carbonworks folks were first class with responses and feedback.
Seems the plastic spacer in the wheel needed to be taken out and all fit just fine.
Wood and leather wheel on and all is almost right with the world.
Cannot praise enough the way wood and Carbonworks handled it all.
Wheel for the 500 and the E320 and very happy. Will use them again anytime.
