While most Russian girls back home can’t drive worth a damn…some can surprise you.

Looks like fun. Try the same thing anywhere in the USA and you'll end up in jail after being chased by twenty patrol cars and a half-dozen helicopters and planes.

:mushroom:

This video is actually pretty old . Driving skills depends on how ambitious is a lady who tought her to drive . My lady back home was really wild when she was driving my car with the strobe lights =))) So you never know ladies do have a hidden potential loool

GSXR , I actually tried the same thing and ended up with bunch of tickets , my mistake was I dropped my speed on the sharp corner , so after that the was no way to go away from the undercover Charger

Budgets for Russian police are no where near the U.S. budgets...unless you are a terrorist. Otherwise, that's pretty much the norm as far driving in Russia.

Yes, clearly the norm in Russia…Other drivers expect it, think nothing of it and let u get away with it. Do that in the US (and maybe in Europe) other drivers will report you if troopers don't get you first. As for driving skills , yes, she sure has and gutsy at that, but at the wrong time and place to which is nothing but reckless! As such 10:03 was a close shave.

Come on...that's how we drive all the time !
Though its best to do this with something not too visible...like a 500E :D , newer tuned cars with laud exhaust are eye catching to under covers...though its scares off other drivers.

That's true , cuz nobody is interested in increasing of budget for police. Everybody is happy with the way it is .
Police is bribing regular drivers but the higher level society is avoiding any problems by making good friends which is great .

You are right here and there are bunch of other explanations too.

The other point I want to bring here is that the level of driving skills of the majority who get the first driver license in the US are much lower than those people who get (buy it) somewhere in ex USSR countries. The reason for that is that you have to really know how to drive where all people drive like in the clip above. While in the US people feel really safe and do not feel they should have some higher driving skills.

As you all can see on the roads most of the people do not even pay attention to side mirrors which is HUGE mistake. I started thinking of this issue , when my friend who is a lady got her driving leciense after a week of driving. I can really see that at the moment she got her DL she had NO idea how to drive at all and what are those consequences of not checking side mirrors and other crucial mistakes.

And she is not only the one who got her DL just because she knows where pedals are and how to turn key. That makes me really scare of driving fast on the highways cuz there are bunch of people who are just clueless drivers. That is really sad cuz speed limit is in a range of 50 to 70 MPH which is quite a high speed at which you should know how to operate car not just drive it straight ...

Come on...that's how we drive all the time !

You are right here with the 500E , I drive all my MBZ's in the same way, but 500E was never pulled over. It really does not get attention from cops which is HUGE benefit. The appearance of the 500E hides the wild potential of this car. As it was stated "Wolf in the sheep skin" .

If one is playing Russian Roulette (pun intended) with the general driving public, at least use the turn signals.

Is it true that Russians are basically forced to mount dash cams to escape those "rear end" con jobs?

By her driving an expensive car, nobody will mess with her. If you got in am accident in your ladda, the policeman would side with her.

I'm sure it helps to have it in court. But if you rear-end the "wrong" person (and god knows there's a good share of them back home), having a rolling video would be the least of your concerns.

at least use the turn signals.

She did, sometimes. But in that reckless mood no need since she's going for gaps that are unsafe, risky and inconsiderate to other drivers anyway. Moreover, if she did (use turn signals) they might close the door on her, so best just dive/cut in and be a nuisance :fu:

Hi,
Yes, impressive the way she takes risks but also the way she drives. On the contrary of lots of drivers, she is aware of her environment : just observe the way she looks around and uses her mirrors. IMHO, she just has to increase her safety distances a bit...
I wouldn't be at ease, for sure, but, quite frankly, I would prefer to be in her car than in the car of lots of other drivers.
Alex

Yes, she's able to pull off what she wants to, but I wouldn't really call that "good" driving either. Many of the maneuvers she gets away with are simply luck. Luck that the car in front of her saw her coming, luck that the car next to her didn't decide to accelerate. She makes a few decisions and commitments that there are no coming back from, before she can possibly know they are safe enough to pull off unscathed. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind someone speeding past me in low traffic when I'm obviously staying in my own lane, but a lot of this vid is in relatively high traffic with people merging all over the place. Unnecessarily risky.

That being said: Those eyes in the rear view :)
