S600 grill, what mods are needed to fit?

Anyone out there with experience modifying an S600 grill to fit a facelifted 124? I’m curious what areas and how much needs to be trimmed to fit.
Thanks

Here is my advice. Purchase a after market S600 grill. If you take a S600 grill and cut it down (cutting off the ends) you now have a grill with the strips that have no integrity, that is, the strips have nothing on the ends to hold them in place, so they will move around and eventually crack/break. This is exactly what I went through. I had no issues with the aftermarket S600 grill.

Thanks for that info Rick. I’ve had an aftermarket S600 Avant-garde style grill that was made for the w124 for the last 15 of some years and it’s chipped up and I decided to just replace it instead of fixing and painting it.

I’d always felt it was a weak design as the horizontal slats have no support at the ends while the genuine and aftermarket S600 grills do.

So to clarify, the genuine S600 grill would need those side end supports cut to fit in 124 but the aftermarket S600 grill that has the side end supports will fit in a 124 with no modifications?

Thanks

As to your questions, yes the actual S600 grill needs to have the ends cut off to fit a W124. The aftermarket S600 style grill is made for the W124 (possibly other models as well), so make sure you get one specific to the W124

Here is one.

Thanks Rick

I ordered a w124 facelift version to replace my old one. 🤞🏻 fingers crossed it’s more solid than my last one.

I tried to pull up your website and it says not found? Did you take it down or move it?
