what "could " be leading to the issues are the settings of the mobile tapatalk app. Go to YOU and then settings then turn off auto refresh. Like all the social media apps they are searching constantly and requesting updated data to the sites you follow, and also the latest updates to the app itself. The last one seems to make every thread subscribed to for updates and I had to turn them off along with the feeds as I was getting 35-50 updated threads feeds and activity notices per hour. So periodically go thru the app and change your settings and take it off background app refresh on your phone device.

Thanks for the feedback. I will give another update soon. Thinking that this may be a good opportunity to force the migration to the new XenForo software, which is ready and waiting for the import of the forum and data on my own "virtual" server with unlimited traffic.
Following your post on Wednesday about an outage on Tuesday, here in the UK we experienced another outage on Wenesday night thru' Thursday morning. I can't recall the exact times, but the site was down for about 6 hours. Maybe others here in the UK can confirm this more exactly?
Yes, all day long. Yesterday as well.
I think the site is reacting to the fact that some of you are spending waaaayyyy too much time on it, so it's limiting your access so that other folks can have their turn.

Over recent weeks, and especially in the past 24-48 hours, I've been starting to see a huge increase in the number of error messages that I'm getting on the site.
In the past when this has happened, it has followed a similar pattern, and in a few cases the site has gone "down" for a day or two, until the server has been rebooted by the Internet provider.
It looks like we may be entering a similar pattern this time around. You may start finding more and more "Internal Error" messages, or general "Server Busy" messages, or even site unavailability or "Site Down" error messages.
If this happens, please note that there is NOTHING wrong with the site software, the side database, and that no data is being lost. These problems creep up over time simply because the Internet provider is running dozens or even hundreds of web sites and forums on the same server, and over time there are memory leaks and other errors that creep into the server with all of these sites running, that consume all of the server's resources and start crowding out other sites, eventually bringing the server to its knees.
The only remedy is a reboot of the server after enough of the web sites become unavailable, and it's impossible to know when this happens, because the Internet provider has to become aware of it (through multiple web site owner complaints of problems) and then actually do something about it to fix it.
So, if the site DOES go down in the coming days, please note that it is a temporary condition and the site will be back up eventually. This is NOT in our control, unfortunately.
The new XenForo forum software is installed on our own "dedicated" virtual server, of which we have full control, and can reboot and maintain ourselves if any problems crop up -- which is a major plus for the site. I promise all of you that I have re-started the process toward the migration to the new software and server. I will keep you updated of progress on the XenForo migration thread. Basically everything has been dormant (but running continuously in the background) and things just need to be reconstituted.

Well, the predicted failures by the internet provider have begun happening over the past 18 hours or so. I'm getting around 10-20 error messages per hour, having to do with the database storage engine. This is clearly a server issue.
Site access is going to be spotty until they get this fixed, and you'll probably experience a lot of errors until they reboot the server. Be patient and know that no data or posts will be lost.

Things seem to now be returning back to normal. I haven't received any error messages for the past 18 hours or so, and the forum seems to be "up" and running OK. So, the internet provider must have rebooted the server and reset things, for now.
Thanks for your patience. It's gotten now so that I can predict these site difficulties in advance just based on the rate of error messages that I get from the internet provider. Sad but true. Luckily this only seems to happen about once a year or so.

I'm seeing extremely heavy error messages this morning, as well as sporadic site unavailability due to issues with the hosting company.
Please continue to have patience. As you can see, the site is still up and running, so if things are unavailable, just wait a bit and log back in.
Frustrating to see all of the errors again. I had thought we were out of the woods on this crap....

ACCESSING THE 500EBOARD SITE
Just an update from the UK. As predicted by Gerryvz, the difficulty accessing various parts of the 500eBoard site have become increasingly worse over the last few days.
This evening I had a problem accessing the site itself.
I realise this is not any fault of the 500e site, but thought those in charge might appreciate an update?

It appears that one of two things are happening. I've done some technical deep-diving into things late this morning.
1) The server has run out of memory for the mySQL database, which back-ends the site, to run in. This is the most common scenario and is the fault of the internet hosting provider, and requires that either files be purged or the server be reset.
2) Traffic levels are EXTREMELY high, meaning that a huge number of queries are hitting the database, maxing it out. I actually have data that is showing high volumes of traffic, to the tune of 1.5 Terabytes of outbound traffic from the database. This is a huge amount of traffic.
NEWS FLASH JUST BEFORE I POSTED THE ABOVE:
Looking at the system status now (attached screen shot) it shows that the database server just was reset about 15 minutes ago, so this should (finally) alleviate the problems. When I looked at things earlier today, it had been up since March 17th and showed the 1.3 TB of system traffic.
No joy.
Normally use Firefox. Tried IE and Chrome all from same laptop.
Also tried Chrome on a fresh-out-of-the-box Samsung/Android tablet.
Yes. As are my farm equipment assets.

Same error with a relatively-up-to-date iPad using Safari.
If someone else is having same problem, then I will look into it further.
Often when it's just one or two people having an issue, it's a matter of browser or personal settings, not with the forum software itself.
